Recess League Rules

Just got our Recess Rules. They're pretty much the same as last years with a few exceptions that I can see so far.

1: No Balls or Strikes, just Fouls and standard play Outs. Gives us some kicking practice.

2: No Man-Bunting. I guess Tim is gonna have to play these games out Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

3: Only eight Runs max an Inning. We get eight runs over the plate, we switch to the field.

Check the rules for yourself to familerize, especially if you think you can ump some games.

Pitcher Race Info

Well, since we're sponsored by the Crystal this really doesn't matter unless we want it too. But the rules have changed, and a good week of drinking can win you a prize. Here's the Email from Mike himself:

A little info about our sponsors for this Spring season...

Slices' Bar and Grill, will be offering their MUSA Madison Ballas' season specials all nights, throughout the Spring season. The specials will include, nightly free appetizers, $1.00 off any tapped pitcher of beer and $.50 off all rail and bottle beers.

Pitcher Race Rules: The rules are simple...order a pitcher of beer, irish carbomb or jagerbomb, tell the bartender your team name, they will mark it down and the team with the most pitchers/jagerbombs/irish carbombs drank by the end of the season...wins! They will also be having a league-wide pitcher race, for each night, with the winner receiving a barrel party after the season is over on a night of your choosing.

The Villa Tap will also be offering $1.00 off of any domestic pitchers and $.50 off of all rail drinks. Villa will also be doing a pitcher race, with one overall winner, receiving a barrel party.

(note: irish carbombs and jagerbombs are not included in this race)

Also, each week throughout the season, our major sponsor, Budweiser, will be featuring prize packs and bar tabs to the lucky teams that have the most pitchers tallied for that week. More info to follow soon, details are still being finalized.

First week prize pack will be a gift pack of t-shirts, hats and more.

You can even drink on none kickball nights and have it count toward the race.
All teams on all nights and locations are welcome to join in.

Directions to the sponsor bars can be found on the 'our Sponsors' page on the www.musakickball.com website.

We hope to see you out before and after your games !!

Practice and Info

We are a little over one week until our first game. Shirts as far as I know are paid for and I'm postponing fees until I get a word back from the crystal. If you paid me I may be doing a partial or total refund depending upon that. Steve is on shirts and has a nice redesign on the same shirts from last year. I guess they're being taken care of so I'll leave the news on those up to him.

This season, I signed us up for what is known as the 'Recess League'. A slightly less competitive league with an emphasis more on fun than competing. The way I see it we can have fun this first season and if we want to actually compete we'll step it up in the summer. It'll give any newbies some breaking in and let us pickle ourselves a little more if we choose.

Weather permitting, Paddie is trying to organize a little practice game this Saturday the 8th at Demitrol field. Plan is to assemble on the center field around four and mess around with a ball until it gets dark enough to seek the refuge of a pub type place. I'm planning on being there and I hope we can get at least nine people to come out to get some semblance of a practice game going.

Anyways, that's all for now. If you need to get a hold of me you know the drill and I get updates if anything gets posted here if you cant seem to find an email addie or phone number. Piece love and all that..............Robb
